A burst of Autumn colour in October

Our October meeting included a splendid array of members’ exhibits for the Forbes Trophy competition. These arrangements had one very strict rule: no flowers could be used! There were so many entries and all very different. It was wonderful to see so much creativity. A very big thank you to everyone that entered and helped to create such an impressive and colourful display. It was very hard to choose the winner, but this year’s First Prize went to Pat Milne with her beautiful Autumn Wreath:

Second prize went to Mary Hope with her clever use of variegated and russet coloured foliage. Third prize went to Eileen Booer, who used many different leaf shapes within her arrangement, alongside some beautiful dried decorative fruit:

From no flowers at all to a wealth of flowers from our demonstrator! David Thomson gave us a very enjoyable “Flora-Mania” demonstration which certainly lived up to the title. The designs were beautiful and packed with colour and interest, and his demonstration was very entertaining.
