Everything’s coming up roses in June!

We were joined at our June meeting by Area Demonstrator, Patricia Ellis. Patricia is known to us all as a past club Chairman, and she is an active exhibitor at competitions on behalf of herself and our club. She is also the co-ordinator of flowers for Southwark Cathedral.

We knew we had a wonderful afternoon to look forward to! Patricia titled her demonstration “Tin and Things” and created some beautiful arrangements in a variety of containers:

The colours and tones in this display complimented the container beautifully:

The meeting also included the Rose Bowl Trophy, which was presented by Shirley Monkton.

Margaret Rumsey was awarded third place with this beautiful display of red roses with deep green foliages, incorporating a candle:

Second place was awarded to Pamela Hogg with graduated arrangement of orange roses with lime green.

First place went to Mary Hope with an arrangement of beautiful two-toned roses in the large champagne glass, absolutely stunning:

Well done to everyone that took part, it was wonderful to see your creative interpretations of the brief and the standard of work was outstanding!

We look forward to seeing everyone at our July meeting, which takes place on Tuesday 9th at 1.45pm. We will be joined by Area Demonstrator, Anna Stevens, for her demonstration titled “Do you see what I see?”. You can find out more by clicking here.
